Can you get me discounts with suppliers?

I can with some suppliers, not all. It depends what you require. I usually try and save my clients as much money as possible. Sometimes that is in terms of cost, sometimes in terms of time-saving. Time is money as they say.
Your main reason for hiring a wedding planner is to help you achieve your dream wedding with as little stress as possible and to impart their wedding wisdom and tips and tricks. I'm not tied to particular suppliers this way and can use trusted suppliers or shop around for deals depending on what you want me to do.

Will you stick to my budget? Some wedding planners charge a percentage of the costs...

Yes I will stick to your budget and I'll keep on top of the costs for you and let you know when payments to suppliers are due.
I charge a set fee agreed up front with you. No hidden costs. However anything outside the orginal scope will need to be agreed and may incurr an additional cost. I work to your budget to give you your dream wedding, whether thats £5000 or £50,000 or more.

Don't think of a wedding planner as an extra cost though. More often than not I can save you the cost of hiring me.

How do I pay you?

After the first consultation we'll know which is the best package for you and use that as a starting point. I then tailor the cost to suit your exact requirements. I then need a £100 deposit to get you in the diary (£50 for wedding day co-ordination only) and get started. The remainder is payable in either quarterly or monthly installments (which ever suits you) with any balance payable before the wedding day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I hire Love To Marry?

I am a very calm and efficient wedding planner. I'm also fun and friendly and so you don't have to feel intimidated by me or think I'll be standoffish or laugh at your ideas if you want something out of the ordinary. I'm not afraid to push the boat out and try something different and always up for a challenge (Asian wedding with 800 guests? Yes please! An evening, outdoor wedding in October with dry ice and lights set to music? Not a problem! A budget of £2000? Let's get creative!). I know your budgets and finances are important to you and would never ask you to spend more than you could afford. Do you charge for an initial consultation?

Do you charge for a consultation?

No. The initial consultation is FREE. So there is no obligation. I recommend meeting any wedding planner first as you do need to get on with them and you won't know unless you meet up. I would assume than an additional consultation would mean you have hired me and so would be included in my service fees.

What happens at a Consultation?

This is a getting to know you session. I need to know what you want for your wedding and your likes and dislikes and you need to know if you want me to be that person who makes your dreams come true. We then discuss how I can help you and I'll give you a quote for my services.

Venues and friends say I don't need a wedding planner. Why should I have one?

Well, everyone is different. Planning a wedding is very time consuming and if you don't know what you're doing, or are not very organised, you could find it a very stressful process.
Why do some people have cleaners when everyone is capable of cleaning themselves? It makes life easier!

Yes venues have wedding co-ordinators but they are there for the venue. I can help organise the suppliers who are not part of the venue and work with ALL the suppliers AND the venue to make sure everything runs smoothly. I am there for YOU. I'm in control of all aspects of the day and you only need to liaise with one person (me).

Will I have any control over the planning process?

Of course! Its your day and I do whatever you want me to do. If you want to stay in control of certain aspects then you can. If you want me to do it all and just keep you updated then that's fine too.

Do I have to use certain suppliers?

Not at all. I have good contacts and can make excellent supplier recommendations for you and you know you'll be getting a reliable and excellent service. But if there is someone in particular you want to use then that's fine - I like meeting new suppliers too.
I usually recommend 2 or 3 suppliers for each element of the wedding so you have a choice and have the final say.
